Livermore Named One Of USA's 'Hottest Zip Codes Of 2023'
Livermore was the only Bay Area city to be included in Realtor.com's Top 50, and it barely squeaked in.

LIVERMORE, CA — Livermore is the only Bay Area city to make Realtor.com’s list of Hottest Zip Codes of 2023. It’s not hard to see why neither the Bay Area nor California is not well-represented: the “hottest” zip codes generally have a median home size larger than the U.S. median, but prices at or below the U.S. median.
Livermore, which recently ranked as fifteenth in the nation for fastest-falling home prices (behind Dublin, which ranked first, and Pleasanton, which ranked seventh), ranked 44th on Realtor.com’s list. The city was judged on three criteria: viewers per property vs. the US median (1.8), median days on the market (27), and median June listing price ($1.4 million.) Livermore has a median price of $700 per square foot, as local realtors Leslie and Don Faught told The East Bay Times.
While Livermore’s numbers in Realtor.com’s first two categories are roughly comparable to those of its neighbors, the median home price is not: Medina, Ohio, ranked 42nd, has a median price of $442,000, while Birmingham, Alabama, ranked 45th, has a median price of $537,000.

Gahanna, Ohio, a Columbus suburb ranked number one, has 4.5 times the number of viewers per property as the national median, a median of 13 days on the market, and a median listing price of $389,000.
The only other California city to make the Top 50 was Bakersfield, with twice the number of viewers, 23 median days on the market, and a median June listing price of $340,000. No California metropolitan areas were included in the list of top metropolitan areas, which included expensive metros like New York City (third), and Boston (fourth.) Columbus, Ohio was the top metropolitan area.
