Livermore Parade Saturday: New Route, Tree Lighting, Bands, More

Here's everything you need to know about the Holiday Sights & Sounds Parade this weekend in downtown Livermore.

LIVERMORE, CA — The Holiday Sights & Sounds Parade is back this Saturday after taking a hiatus last year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Show up at 6 p.m. to enjoy the First Street parade featuring marching bands, light displays, music and local businesses. Former Mayor John Marchand will be honored for his years of public service to the city and his commitment to downtown, according to Livermore Downtown, which organized the event.

Rumor has it that Santa Claus himself will be in attendance.

The tree lighting will be held immediately after the parade at Lizzie Fountain, at the corner of Livermore Avenue and First Street.

This year's parade route is slightly different than those in years past due to construction between L and M Streets. The parade will run along First Street from L Street to McLeod Street.
