Livermore Police Holding DUI Checkpoint, Planning Increased Holiday Season Patrols

Police said increased patrols will be in effect until New Year's Day.

LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Police Department said it will hold a DUI checkpoint Friday from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. at an undisclosed location the city.

The location was determined based on data showing incidents of impaired, driving-related crashes, police said.

The purpose of the checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road. Impaired driving includes alcohol, cannabis, prescription medications, and over-the-counter medications.
