Livermore Police Offer Holiday Gifts To Students In Need: How To Help LPD

The "Shop with a Cop" program is back this year and Livermore police are accepting donations to treat local students in need.

LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Police Department is accepting donations for its annual Shop with a Cop program on Dec. 11.

Police seek to raise $9,000 in hopes to take more than 30 Livermore Valley Joint Unified Students shopping for holiday gifts at Walmart after treating the kids to a cup of hot cocoa at Starbucks, according to an online GoFundMe fundraiser that started this month.

The students will be greeted at Walmart by the Granada High School band and student leaders, then taken to shop for gifts for family members and themselves. Officers and volunteers will help the kids wrap their presents, according to the fundraiser.
