Police Identify Man Found Dead at Hotel
Illegal drug use may have played a role in Florida man's death.

have identified a as John Milton Harper of Tampa, Fla., Officer David Blake said.
Harper on July 15 was found in a room and unresponsive by a hotel staff member.
Blake provided the following statement on the case:

The Livermore Police Department’s Criminal Investigative Bureau investigated this death as suspicious due to the actions of an associate of Mr. Harper’s (post mortem). Detectives contacted and interviewed the associate who will remain unidentified at this time. The associate is not being considered a suspect in the death of Mr. Harper. There was indication during this investigation of illegal drug use being involved prior to Mr. Harper’s death.
The case itself is still under investigation pending toxicology results from the Alameda County Coroner’s Office. The results may not be available for several months. Once the investigation is closed the Livermore Police Department intends to release the results to the public via press release. There are no public safety concerns having been identified as a part of this investigation.
