Second Victim Discovered in Child Sex Abuse Case

Investigators have learned of a second victim in a case against David Charles Garrison, who was arrested Sunday on suspicion of sexually abusing a child.

Investigators have discovered a second victim in a case against a man accused of sexually abusing a child under 14 years old, officials said.

Alameda County Deputy District Attorney Joseph R. Eichhorn announced the latest development Wednesday, during Garrison's arraignment hearing at the Pleasanton court house.

"We have learned of a second victim," Eichhorn said.

Garrison, who appeared in court dressed in a red inmate suit, postponed his arraignment to next week. He currently faces three counts of sexual abuse on a child under 14. His bail — previously set at $350,000 — on Wednesday raised to $450,000 to be more in line with the court's bail schedule.

However, bail can increase again pending additional charges Garrison may face with a possible second victim involved in the case.

"I'm unsure if they will come forward," Eichhorn said of the second victim.

Garrison is represented by Attorney Camellia Baray, who declined to comment on the case.

Garrison is being held at Santa Rita Jail in Dublin in lieu of $450,000 bail. He is scheduled to return to court for an arraignment and plea at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, in Department 701 of the Gale-Schenone Hall of Justice in Pleasanton.
