Tesla Road Reopens To Traffic Following Erosion Closure

A section of the road was closed in March due to erosion damage, which has been repaired.

LIVERMORE, CA - Tesla Road reopened to traffic Friday at around 5 p.m., Alameda County Public Works announced.

The section of the road from Reuss Road to the county line had been closed since late March, when inspectors deemed it unsafe due to erosion. Public Works tweeted photos of a cracked roadway next to a steep, unprotected drop below the side of the road, which it said are now repaired.

Meanwhile, Doolan Road and Mines Road remain closed. Doolan Road is reportedly undermined halfway and appears unsafe for travel, while Mines Road is “closed to ensure public safety,” according to ACPW. The county said it is seeking contractors to perform repairs, and has no timeline for reopening the road.
