‘Transient’ Arrested In Livermore Lighting Trees, Brush On Fire: Cops
Police found a small burnt area of charred bark and a pile of ashes.

LIVERMORE, CA — Livermore police arrested a 30-year-old woman Monday around 3 p.m. after a report of a person lighting trees and brush on fire near East Airway Boulevard and Sutter Street, the police department said in a social media post Tuesday.
“Officers found a 30-year-old transient, matching the suspect description, walking eastbound on Airway Boulevard. Several witnesses identified her as the suspect,” the post said.
A lighter was found on the woman before she confessed to starting the fire. Officers found a small burnt area of charred bark and a piles of ashes, the post said.

"One witness said he saw her actively adding pine needles to keep the fire going," the post said. "That witness reported the fire because he was concerned due to the heat (90-degree weather) and dry conditions.”
The woman was arrested for suspected arson and booked into the Santa Rita Jail. Her name has not been released.
