Wheels Expands Bus Coverage, Weekend Service

LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority (LAVTA) Board of Directors approved a Wheels in Motion network and expansion and service enhancements, the agency announced.

The new network provides more community coverage and improves weekend service. Notably, Wheels Rapid buses will now align with the new 20-minute BART Train schedules. Additionally, local neighborhood routes in Dublin and Livermore will be restored after pandemic suspension.

Implementation is estimated to take place in March. New maps and timetables will be available at wheelsbus.com two weeks before the start of the new services. Riders will also be able to use the Transit mobile app.

“We are thrilled to introduce our new bus network, significantly expanding the reach of Wheels services,” LAVTA Board Chair Melissa Hernandez said in a statement. “By listening to rider feedback and coordinating with our Bay Area transit partners, we continually evolve to meet [the] community’s needs and improve public transit in the Tri-Valley.”

Weekday Service Enhancements:

• Rapid Routes 10R and 30R run every 20 minutes aligned with BART service schedules
• Rapid Route 10R operates service for one additional hour (until midnight)
• Routes 1, 3, 8 and 14 adjust to run every 40 minutes
• Route 2 resumes hourly service in East Dublin
• Route 11 resumes limited peak service to East Livermore
• Route 15 increases frequency to every 20 minutes during peak hours and hourly during the midday
• New local services in Central Dublin and Southwest Livermore run every 40 minutes during extended peak hours
• Route 580X resumes limited service between Downtown Livermore and BART
• Route 70X extends through the Hacienda Business Park

Weekend Service Enhancements:

• Rapid Route 10R runs every 20 minutes on Saturdays and every 40 minutes on Sundays, aligned with BART service schedules

• Route 30R runs every 40 minutes on Saturdays and continues to run hourly on Sundays, aligned with BART service schedules
• New local service to Central Dublin runs every 40 minutes daytime on Saturdays
