Allegedly Drunk Man Rides Horse Down Los Angeles Freeway
The California Highway Patrol said it arrested the man because it does not horse around in these situations.
LONG BEACH, CA -- A man was arrested early Sunday after allegedly riding a horse down a Los Angeles-area freeway while drunk. The California Highway Patrol said the incident was reported at 1 a.m. on state Route 91 near Paramount Boulevard.
The man, identified as Luis Alfredo Perez, 29, of Placentia, was reportedly riding a white Arabian horse on the eastbound freeway.
An alcohol screening test showed Perez had a blood-alcohol content of .21 percent, more than double the legal limit, according to a CHP report.

The horse, named "Guera," was unharmed and released to the suspect's mother, who was on the scene quickly, the CHP said.
The state agency joked about the arrest on Twitter, stating "We get a chuckle out of the interesting situations we encounter from time to time, but one thing the CHP does not do is 'horse' around with DUI."
