Argument Escalates Into Shooting Near Long Beach Poly High

An argument between two men escalated into a shooting near Long Beach Polytechnic High School Tuesday night, according to the LBPD.

Preliminary investigation results suggest the victim was in the 1100 block of East Anaheim Street when a man approached him. According to the victim, the two men argued briefly before the suspect shot at him.

LONG BEACH, CA — An argument between two men escalated into a shooting near Long Beach Polytechnic High School Tuesday night, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Police got a report of the shooting at about 8:17 p.m. and were dispatched to the 1400 block of Lewis Avenue. At the scene, officers found a man who was suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Paramedics took the man to a local hospital to treat his injuries. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.
