LONG BEACH, CA — A brush fire prompted the closure of the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway on Tuesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.The fire started at around 3:40 p.m. a spokeswoman with the CHP said. The southbound 605 will be closed at Willow Street offramp for about 30 minutes starting at 4:05 p.m. to allow firefighters to battle the flames, she said.The news of the closure comes just as rush-hour traffic starts.
