LONG BEACH, CA -- A diver was rescued Saturday about nine miles off the coast of Long Beach. A diver in distress was reported around 12:30 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The diver was hoisted from a rescue boat by medics and airlifted to Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department who assisted in the rescue.
