  1. A drowning victim was pulled from the ocean Monday morning at 3720 S Stephen M White Drive. L.A. County lifeguards were instrumental in locating the body. “The Los Angeles County Coroner will investigate the drowning.” (Patch)
  2. Public Works reported an unplanned power outage Monday at around 10:40 a.m. “affecting residents and some traffic signals on Atherton between the Traffic Circle and Bellflower; Los Coyotes Diagonal from Traffic Circle to Stearns.” Technicians evaluated the dark intersections and installed generators as needed.   3. On Monday, there was a Disney-themed hand sanitizer recall. The affected products which have been sold in the Long Beach area include: “The Mandalorian” Hand Sanitizer Ethyl Alcohol 68%, available in green and blue formulations; and Mickey Mouse Hand Sanitizer Ethyl Alcohol 68% blue formulation. Testers found “the human carcinogen benzene” in the Baby Yoda package and “methanol in the Mickey Mouse” package. (KTLA)
  4. We learned Monday that the 123,532-square-foot business park at 700-806 W. 14th Street and 701-733 W. Anaheim Street has a new owner. Rexford Industrial Realty Inc. bought the property from RPG 14 for $24 million. “The location is coveted for its proximity to the largest port system in the United States, which had its busiest year on record in 2021 and many of the tenants within this park are port-related.” (LA Business Journal)
  5. The LBPD Explorers program is looking for candidates. Teens between the ages of 14 and 19 are encouraged to apply. Applications are due by April 20, and there will be an open house on April 27 at 5:30 p.m. (@LBPD)
