LONG BEACH, CA -- An armed robbery suspect who prompted a standoff with deputies was safely taken into custody Sunday afternoon. The incident began around 9:15 a.m. at a home in the 30 block of West Mountain View Street when the suspect barricaded himself, forcing deputies to evacuate nearby homes. A sheriff's Special Enforcement Bureau detail and a crisis negotiation team were dispatched to the scene, and ultimately took the suspect into custody.No other information was immediately available. --City News Service contributed to this report; Photo via Shutterstock
