Long Beach Man Sentenced to 15 Years for Fatal DUI Crash in Cerritos
George Edward Allison Jr., 33, was sentenced immediately after pleading no contest Tuesday to a felony count of gross vehicular manslaughter

A Long Beach man with three prior DUI convictions was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison for driving drunk last year and crashing into a motorcyclist who died three weeks later, a prosecutor said Wednesday.
George Edward Allison Jr., 33, was sentenced immediately after pleading no contest Tuesday to a felony count of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, according to Deputy District Attorney Andrea Mader.
Allison admitted that he had previous convictions for driving under the influence of alcohol in Orange County in 2005, 2009 and 2013, according to the prosecutor.

Allison struck motorcyclist Jerry Frey on the eastbound Riverside (91) Freeway in Cerritos on Jan. 5, 2015. The collision launched Frey’s body about 100 feet and he landed on the freeway, according to Mader.
Good Samaritans went to Frey’s aid until paramedics arrived to transport him to a hospital, Mader said. The 60-year-old man died of his injuries three weeks later, according to the prosecutor.
