Long Beach Man Suspected Of Shooting Girlfriend In Parking Lot
Police said an argument between two people in a relationship escalated into a shooting inside a parked car in Manhattan Beach.
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — A Long Beach man was arrested on suspicion of shooting his partner during an argument inside a parked car in Manhattan Beach, authorities announced Thursday.
According to the Manhattan Beach Police Department, officers received a report of a shooting in the Vons Market parking lot at about 1:17 a.m. on Oct. 14. Preliminary investigation results indicated that a man and a woman in a relationship were parked together in the vehicle by the beach.
"An argument escalated at which time the male subject produced a handgun and shot the female in the lower abdomen," MBPD said in a statement.

The suspect, who was identified as Ahmayae Uriah Barner, 21 of Long Beach, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder according to MBPD.
The woman was transported to Harbor General Hospital where she underwent surgery and remains in stable condition, police said.
