Long Beach Police Host National Night Out 2024

Long Beach Police Department will join law enforcement across the nation in the event to promote strong police-community partnerships.

LONG BEACH, CA — To continue to promote community trust and transparency in local law enforcement, the Long Beach Police Department will host its National Night Out for 2024 on Aug 6.

Long Beach residents are invited to attend the annual community-building campaign in various locations throughout Long Beach.

Over 38 million neighbors across 17,000 communities from all 50 states, US territories and military bases will come together to participate in similar events. The goal for National Night Out is to promote strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, law enforcement said.

Most communities celebrate National Night Out by hosting block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and other community events. Often,organizers will offer safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel and exhibits for people to experience.

“National Night Out is a special night for our department to celebrate partnerships, friendships, and relationships we share as a community,” said Police Chief Wally Hebeish.“It is truly a privilege to be invited into the homes, businesses and places of worship throughout our city to show appreciation for the work the employees of the Long Beach Police Department do on a daily basis.”
