LONG BEACH, CA — An unknown man attempted to kidnap a child in the Washington Neighborhood of Long Beach early Wednesday morning, according to the Long Beach Police Department.Officers said the child didn't sustain any injuries in the incident and was able to get to safety before the suspect fled. Police are still searching for the suspect and the only description available was that he drove a black sedan."When possible, please walk in groups &amp; in highly trafficked areas," LBPD said in a statement.The LBPD Neighborhood Safety Bike Team is in the area to engage with the community and get more information.Anyone who may have additional information or thinks they saw something suspicious was urged to contact 562-435-6711 to report criminal activity. For emergencies, call 911.
