Robbery Suspect Shoots At North Long Beach Business While Fleeing

LONG BEACH, CA — Long Beach Police Department officers are investigating an early morning armed robbery at a business in North Long Beach.

According to police, a man entered the business and attempted to steal several items at a shop in the 6000 block of Long Beach Boulevard at about 4:18 a.m. Another man stopped the suspect and the pair got into a physical altercation.

"The suspect fled on foot and fired a gun multiple times back at the business," LBPD said.

The other man sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the fight but declined medical treatment. No injuries from the shooting were reported.

The suspect's identity and additional details about the incident are under investigation.
