Stabbing Victim In Critical Condition After Fight In Long Beach
A man was in critical condition Monday after a fight escalated into a stabbing Sunday night, police said.

LONG BEACH, CA — A man was in critical, but stable condition Monday after a fight with multiple people in Long Beach Sunday night.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, officers received a report of a stabbing in the 1300 block of Walnut Avenue at about 10:31 p.m. Officers also responded to a local hospital to find two victims who had taken themselves to get treatment for stab wounds.
One victim was listed in critical, stable condition with multiple stabbing injuries in his upper body. The other victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, LBPD said.

Preliminary investigation results revealed the two victims were in an altercation with a group of men.
"The altercation escalated when the suspect(s) stabbed one victim multiple times in the upper body with an unknown object," LBPD said in a statement.

The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.
No information about the identities of the suspects or the motive for the stabbing was available. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
