Suspect Unknown In Early Morning Shooting In Long Beach

LONG BEACH, CA — Long Beach police are investigating a report of a shooting that happened early Friday morning.

Officers were notified about a patient at a hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound in his lower body. The man told police he was in the area of Long Beach Boulevard and Anaheim Street at about 2:59 a.m. when he was shot.

No information about the suspect or motive for the shooting was available. Police went to the scene that the victim described, but no evidence of a shooting was available, LBPD said.

"The victim was uncooperative in providing additional details of the incident.," LBPD said in a statement.

The investigation is ongoing.
