Anyone who believes they were detained by Jayson Paul Carter while he allegedly represented himself as a police officer should contact LBPD.

Long Beach police on Thursday sought possible victims in Los Angeles and San Diego counties of a 42-year-old man arrested on suspicion of impersonating a police officer.

Jayson Paul Carter was taken into custody about 9 a.m. Tuesday when detectives from the Long Beach Police Department’s Drug Investigations Section, with assistance from the FBI, served a warrant at a Rolling Hills Estates home.

“Detectives recovered evidence consisting of false identifications representing state and federal law enforcement agencies,” according to a police statement.

Investigators released images of vehicles similar to those driven by the suspect but did not circulate his booking photo, saying that doing so could taint the investigation.

Anyone who believes they were detained by Carter while he allegedly represented himself as a police officer or federal agent was urged to call Long Beach police Detective Dylan Lobascio at (562) 570-7221.
