Woman Killed Lying in the Road ID'd as Ann Ohearn

Police still don't know why she was lying in the road when a motorist hit her.

Authorities on Monday identified a woman who was hit by a vehicle and killed while she was lying on a street in Long Beach.

The 911 call about the accident near the intersection of Loma Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway was received by Long Beach police at 10:46 p.m. Wednesday, Long Beach police Lt. Greg Schirmer said.

Ann Ohearn, 56, died at the scene, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter. Her home town was not known, Winter said.

“For some reason the woman was laying on the road,” Schirmer said. “A vehicle then hit her. The driver stopped and called police. He didn’t see the woman before he hit her.”
