• Los Altos Hills increases traffic enforcement to reduce speeding (losaltosonline.com) — Los Altos Hills is stepping up traffic enforcement through Jan. 15 on key speeding corridors like Robleda, Altamont and Elena roads, after residents raised safety concerns. The council chose targeted patrols over hiring a full-time deputy, and also asked the town’s Technology Committee to explore camera and other traffic-calming solutions for the narrow, sidewalk-free streets. 
• Cupertino school district looks at budget as layoffs loom (losaltosonline.com) — Families in Los Altos whose children attend Montclaire Elementary or Cupertino Middle could be affected as Cupertino Union School District moves toward major budget cuts and possible layoffs. District leaders are weighing reduced TK hours, fewer middle school electives, and early retirement incentives to close a multimillion-dollar deficit while trying to preserve core programs and staff stability.
