118 Firefighters Battle Downtown Blaze Early Friday Morning: LAFD

It took firefighters nearly two hours to extinguish the fire, which broke out in an industrial area just south of the Arts District.

LOS ANGELES, CA — It took 118 firefighters nearly two hours to extinguish a blaze that broke out early Friday morning in downtown Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the fire at Alameda and 8th streets just after 4 a.m. When they arrived, they found a 100-foot-by-100-foot, two-story commercial building with flames showing through its roof, according to the LAFD.

There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation, the LAFD said.
