55 Injured After Train Vs. Bus Crash That Shut Down Major LA Street: LAFD
At least 55 people were injured when two transit vehicles collided late Tuesday morning, according to the LAFD.

LOS ANGELES, CA — At least 55 people were injured in a collision between a Metro E Line train and a USC bus in Exposition Park Tuesday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The crash was reported just before noon on Exposition Boulevard, just east of Vermont Avenue near the USC campus.
Of those injured, two were on the bus and transported to a local hospital in "moderate-to-serious condition," according to the LAFD.

Sixteen others were transported to a hospital in fair condition. And at least 37 were treated and released on scene, the LAFD said.
Photos from Fox 11 show the aftermath of the crash: The USC bus, with a damaged front end, was pictured next to the center-median running train.

The crash immediately halted E Line train service between the Expo/Vermont and Jefferson/USC stations. By 1:30 p.m., shuttle buses were deployed to replace service between those two stations, Metro announced.
Exposition Boulevard was closed to motorists in both directions between Figueroa Street and Bill Robertson Lane, according to the USC Department of Public Safety.
