Acton's Lidia Fire Blackens 350 Acres, 40 Percent Contained
The blaze is among five major wildfires currently burning in Los Angeles County.
ACTON, CA — A brush fire burning broke out amid remote terrain in the Acton area Wednesday, quickly scorching 350 acres and threatening structures.
The blaze, the fifth large brush fire to break out in Los Angeles County over the last 24 hours, prompted Metrolink to halt service in the area. The blaze comes as firefighting resources are stretched thin and water supply in the region is taxed by the series of Santa Ana Wind-driven fires ravaging the area.
The Lidia Fire erupted early Wednesday afternoon in the area of Soledad Canyon Road and Bootleggers Canyon. Fire crews from Los Angeles County and the U.S. Forest Service both responded to the scene and quickly set up structure-protection units.
