Air and Ground Crews Tackle Studio City Brush Fire
Firefighters mounted an agressive battle top stop a brush fire in steep terrain in the Studio City area.

STUDIO CITY, CA — Firefighters stopped the forward progress of a brush fire burning in the Studio City area Saturday afternoon.
Crews held the blaze to between 1-2 acres and will remain on the scene to mop up and monitor hot spots, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The blaze broke out near in the 3100 block of North Coldwater Canyon Avenue near Mulholland Drive and Coldwater Canyon Park in steep terrain at about 3:30 p.m., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart. The forward progress was halted at 4:42 p.m. near the Betty Dearing Trail.

With the help of the Los Angeles County Fire department, crews mounted an aggressive effort with ground crews and air drops, keeping the blaze from threatening any structures.
"Firefighters will be on scene for an extended period ensuring no hot spots remain in the isolated terrain," added Stewart.

No one was injured in the blaze, and the cause remained under investigation.
