Boy, 15, Killed In DUI Police Chase Identified

The teenager was the passenger in an SUV fleeing the Los Angeles Police Department Friday.

WESTCHESTER, CA — Authorities on Monday identified a 15-year-old boy killed in a DUI police chase on Friday in Westchester.

According to the Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner, the passenger who died in a violent crash at the end of an early morning chase was Glendon Robateau.

The chase began at about 1:30 a.m. Friday in the 10000 block of South Sepulveda Boulevard, according to the LAPD. Officers began pursuing the driver of an SUV suspected of being under the influence. The chased ended abruptly when the SUV slammed into a Honda sedan, nearly splitting the SUV in half.

Robateau died at the scene and a person in the Honda was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition.

The driver of the SUV tried to leave the scene but was captured and arrested, police said.
