Brush Fire Erupts West of Lancaster, Burns 800 Acres

The fire shut down Pearblossom (138) Highway 1.7 miles east of the junction with Interstate 5 at Gorman Post Road.

LANCASTER, CA — A brush fire burned about 800 acres Tuesday in the Fairmont area of Los Angeles County, west of Lancaster.

The fire was reported around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday near 245th Street West and West Aqueduct Road, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

The Pearblossom (138) Highway was closed 1.7 miles east of the junction with Interstate 5 at Gorman Post Road, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The road closure also extended 3.1 miles east of Neenach at 210th Street.
