Car Plows Through Crime Scene Tape Into LAPD Command Post At Shooting Scene
The crash occurred following an officer-involved shooting of a shooting suspect.

LOS ANGELES, CA - A car drove through crime scene tape and hit a mobile LAPD command post after officers shot a suspect in South Los Angeles, authorities said Sunday.
Officers were in the area of Avalon Boulevard and 42nd Place at 10:50 p.m. Saturday when they saw a suspect east of Avalon Boulevard, preparing to cross the west side of the intersection, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
"The suspect was armed with a handgun; at that time, there was an OIS," according to a police statement.

"The suspect was struck by gunfire & taken to a local hospital for medical treatment," the statement continued. "Following the OIS, officers learned the suspect had confronted a victim in a nearby alley and fired at least one round in the air. The victim was not injured. The suspect's handgun is at scene."
Police continued investigating at the scene, and at about 3 a.m. a silver sedan going northbound on Avalon drove through the crime scene tape and struck the command post, according to Officer Norma Eisenman of the LAPD's Media Relations Division.
Several personnel were inside an LAPD vehicle at the scene, one of whom had complaints of pain and was taken to a hospital.

The driver of the sedan remained at the scene and cooperated with police. It was not immediately known if the motorist was cited or arrested, said Eisenman, who adding that neither alcohol nor drugs appeared to be factors in the crash.
