Chef Curtis Stone Opens Picnic Society by Gwen at The Grove

Chef and restaurateur Curtis Stone has opened Picnic Society by Gwen, a new full-service restaurant and grab and go picnic market at The Grove in Los Angeles.

The new concept will be open for a four-month residency and will provide Angelinos several dining options.

The extensive grab and go market will feature sandwiches, salads, charcuterie, vegetables, cheeses and other delicacies. Additionally, diners can choose to purchase pre-made baskets with miniature tables, blankets and cutlery for an easy ready to go picnic. There is also a second-floor al fresco terrace to enjoy dishes on site.

Highlights of the menu include salad nicoise, lobster roll and steak frites with mustard.

Inspired by the new behaviors of communities grappling with global change, Stone and his team wanted to create a safe and convenient way for individuals to find solace in the shared experience of simply enjoying a meal together. “The world has changed in recent months, and so has the way that we enjoy food and come together. I began thinking back to the stories of early 19th century gatherings of ‘picnic societies’ in Europe,” said Stone. “With good food and the right company, you can really make anywhere in the world your restaurant, and I look forward to elevating this experience for the Los Angeles community.”
