Child Found Dead In Los Angeles Parking Lot: LAPD

The boy was estimated to be between 3 and 4 years old, police say.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A child was found dead in a Panorama City parking lot Saturday morning, police said.

According to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman, at about 7 a.m., the LAPD's Mission Division officers responded to a radio call on the 8200 block of Van Nuys Boulevard.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a young boy, estimated to be between 3 and 4 years old, at the scene, police said.

Personnel for the Los Angeles Fire Department responded and "unfortunately, determined the child to be deceased," police said.

Detectives from the LAPD's abused child unit are handling the investigation and were at the scene Saturday, police said. Criminalists from the LAPD and officials from the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner also responded, police said.
