Cold Temps Bring Chance Of April Rain And Snow To Los Angeles County
Unseasonably cool temperatures combine with a chance of rain and snow this week across the Southland.

LOS ANGELES, CA — As powerful winds buffet the Southland, cool temperatures prevail and a chance of rain and snow return to Los Angeles County.
Much of Southern California remains under a wind advisory through early Wednesday morning with winds between 20 and 30 miles per hour and wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour. As the wind recedes, there is a chance that rain and snow will move into the region, bringing a surprise dusting of spring snow to Mt. Baldy and Big Bear.
According to the National Weather Service, there is a 20 percent chance of rain Thursday in Los Angeles as temperatures hover about 10 degrees below normal in the low to mid 60s from the coast to the foothills. That's a full 30 degrees cooler than last week's record-breaking heat in the San Fernando Valley.

In the San Gabriel Mountains, Angelenos have an unexpected chance to play in some April snow. Mt. Baldy may get snow Wednesday night through Thursday night along with a chance of thunder and lightning.
Snow levels could fall as low as 3,500 feet by Wednesday, according to the national weather service. The storm could drop between 1 and 3 inches of snow in the mountains and back up traffic in the Tejon Pass.

The best chance for snow will be Thursday when there will be a 40 percent chance of light snow.
"A chance of snow showers after 11 a.m. Some thunder is also possible. Areas of fog before 11 a.m.," the weather service forecast.
The mountain snow is not likely to stick around for long, as a warm-up is expected heading into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
According to the NWS, the Southland is in for a "big change" in the weather by the weekend. Warm temperatures from offshore winds will continue into next week with highs in the upper 70s.
