Convicted Drug Trafficker, 'El Mago,' 1 Of 2 Men Gunned Down In LA: Report

Eduardo Escobedo, whose nickname means magician, was the prime distributor of marijuana for El Chapo's son, The LA Times reported.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A known drug dealer who worked for the son of Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman was one of two men shot to death on Thursday morning in an industrial area of Willowbrook, The Los Angeles Times reported.

Thirty-nine-year-old Eduardo "El Mago" Escobedo, was shot on Towne Avenue, along with Guillermo De Los Angeles Jr., 47, and a third man who lived, at around 8 a.m., authorities confirmed for the outlet.

Escobedo, whose nickname means magician, Raised in East Los Angeles, was the primary distributor of marijuana in Los Angeles for El Chapo's eldest son, Ivan Archivaldo Guzman Salazar, a prosecutor stated during a 2014 detention hearing, the outlet reported.

When deputies and firefighter-paramedics arrived at Thursday's shooting scene, the two men were lying dead in a parking area near warehouses and commercial facilities, ABC reported.

The LA County Sheriff's Lt. Omar Camacho told the outlet, "We have no motive at this time. It appears that there was some type of gathering or party at the location from last night to early this morning."
