Deputies Kill Woman Who Tried To Set Neighbor's Home On Fire: LASD
According to police, the woman was barricade inside her home with a knife when deputies shot her.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A woman who tried to set a neighbor's home on fire during a dispute was shot and killed by Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies in Rosemead, authorities said Wednesday.
The office-involved shooting occurred Wednesday evening in the 8700 block of Scott Street. When deputies arrived on the scene, the woman had barricaded herself inside her home and was armed with a knife, according to the sheriff's department.
The investigation remains ongoing.

Deputies were called at about 6:10 p.m. to respond to a report of a dispute between neighbors.
They arrived to discover the woman had tried to light her neighbor's home on fire.

"During their investigation they discovered evidence of the arson and an assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury.," the sheriff's department announced. " A search warrant was approved and served at the location. During the search warrant service, the suspect was encountered inside the location. The suspect was armed with a large knife, at which time a deputy-involved shooting occurred."
The woman was shot and transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
The knife was recovered at the scene, according to investigators.
No deputies were injured during the shooting.
