Dodgers Star's Shelter Dog Prevented Burglary At Hollywood Hills Home: Report
The dog's loud barking is being credited with thwarting the burglar's plans, according to a report by NBC4.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A Dodgers player's home was broken into earlier this week, and his dog is being credited with thwarting the suspects' burglary attempt, according to a report by NBC4.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto was on the road in Cincinnati with his team when police say his Hollywood Hills home was targeted by burglars around 5 a.m. Wednesday.
Yamamoto's dog, however, started barking loudly, which prompted a staff member at the home to turn on the lights, according to the news report. This, police said, likely made the suspects run off.

Nothing was taken, as the suspects never made it inside the home, but they managed to smash a window before fleeing.
Yamamoto adopted his dog from an animal shelter last year while on the Dodgers' injured list, according to NBC4.

"My mom visited me in LA. She wanted to visit the animal shelter, so we went there and I fell in love with my dog," Yamamoto said through an interpreter during an interview earlier this year. "So, I adopted him."
