A Dozen Bikers Lead Police On Chase Across Los Angeles

A group of more than a dozen motorcyclists are leading police on a high-speed chase, sometimes doing wheelies and driving the wrong-way.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A group of more than a dozen motorcyclists are leading police on a high-speed chase from Inglewood toward Downtown Los Angeles.

The mass chase, which involves motorcyclists driving in the wrong direction on busy surface streets was headed toward Downtown Los Angeles. According to KTLA, the one of the initial bikers involved in the pursuit attempted to ram a pursuing officer.

The chase began when deputies tried to pull over two dirt bikers for traffic violations, KTLA reported. It quickly grew as more bikers and four-wheel riders joined the cyclists near East Imperial Highway and Success Avenue, where the pair stopped at a Chevron gas station to refuel. Some of the riders have been performing wheelies.

The group has, at times, peeled off in separate directions. The original pursuit suspects drove westbound Glen Anderson (105) Freeway, westbound SR-60 and southbound Long Beach (710) Freeway at times.

One of the motorcyclists appears to be regularly looking at his cell phone while the pair continues to evade law enforcement.
