WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA — A dump truck slammed into the landmark Whisky a Go Go on the Sunset Strip Friday afternoon, knocking out power to the area and ironically forcing the venue to cancel the night's Boy Hits Car concert.

As crews worked to restore power in the area and assess the damage, Clark Street remained closed north of Sunset Boulevard.

The crash happened just after 3 p.m., and the dump truck, which appeared to have a full load of dirt, slammed into power poles and multiple other vehicles before coming to rest against the 102-year-old building.
