Family Dispute Leads To Fatal Shooting In Beverly Grove

​After the shooting, the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.

BEVERLY GROVE, CA — A man was shot and killed in a family dispute in the Beverly Grove area Friday afternoon, and the suspected shooter was arrested at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

"It happened at 1:25 p.m. in the 400 block of North Alfred Street," said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Jeffrey Lee. "A male, white, 58 years old, arrived at the location after a family dispute armed with a handgun and fired at the victim, striking him."

The victim, a 61-year-old man, died at the scene.

After the shooting, the suspect was taken into custody without further incident, Lee said.

Detectives are still working to determine what led up to the shooting. The LAPD could not confirm an ABC7 report that a woman at the scene was struck with a baseball bat before the shooting.
