🤔 Aggressive Urban Coyotes or Regular L.A. County Wildlife? Poll!

We live with raccoons and opossums. Do coyotes fall into the same category? They don’t need open space, have no problems building dens close to humans, and are becoming more and more visible on our neighborhood streets. What do you think? So far, 59.1% think we need to learn to live with them, 37.9% want them gone, and 3% don’t care one way or the other.

📰 Here are the top stories today in Los Angeles:

1) The LAFD headed to the 11700 block of West Foothill Boulevard on Monday. There was a brush fire that had ignited about two acres near the Hansen Dam. There’s no word on the cause of the fire. (CBS)

2) The L.A. Department of Transportation will once again allow residents to request speed humps. The program begins on October 6 at 9 a.m. However, the Department will only accept “25 applications per District and applications can only be submitted online.” Also, you need to live on a flat street that isn’t a bus route. Moreover, the speed limit must be 30 MPH or lower. (LADOT)

3) The World City Center Preschool is hosting a virtual town hall today, Wednesday, at 7 p.m. It's aimed at parents with children five years of age and younger. The topic of discussion is COVID-19 vaccination for that age group. (LA Public Health)

4) If you are an attorney, paralegal, or legal secretary, Caltrans wants you! They agency hosts an “in-person hiring event w/on-site interviews 9 AM-2 PM, Sept. 28 at 100 S. Main St. in Downtown LA,” which is today! Come dressed to impress! (Caltrans)

5) Mark your calendars! The Founder’s Church of Religious Science at 3281 West 6th Street will host the Psychedelic Institute’s conference on Friday. It runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. You'll “learn from 30 of the world's leading researchers, healers, and activists working in the field of psychedelics and plant medicine.” (Bakersfield)
