Gate Crasher Had Been Harassing Jennifer Aniston For Years: Police
A man, who claimed Jennifer Aniston is his wife, had long targeted the "Friends" star with calls and emails, according to prosecutors.

LOS ANGELES, CA —A man accused of ramming his vehicle into the front gate of actress Jennifer Aniston's Bel Air home had been stalking the actress for years, frequently referring to her as his wife, according to prosecutors.
Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, 48, was charged Wednesday with felony counts of stalking and vandalism. Carwyle was arrested around 12:30 p.m. Monday by Los Angeles Police Department officers after he rammed his vehicle through her front gate in the 900 block of Airole Way, only to be quickly apprehended and held down by her private security officers, according to the LAPD.
According to prosecutors, Carwyle caused "substantial damage."

The "Friends" star was home when the vehicle rammed its way onto her property. The dramatic invasion was the culmination of years of harassment, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. Carwyle had been harassing the 56-year-old star of "The Morning Show," "Along Came Polly" and "Horrible Bosses" since March of 2023 by "sending her unwanted social media, voicemail and email messages," prosecutors allege.
Carwyle allegedly made multiple social media posts referencing the actress, with some of them referring to her as his wife.

Stalking is a crime that can quickly escalate from harassment to dangerous, violent actions, threatening the safety of victims and our communities," District Attorney Nathan Hochman said in a statement. "My office is committed to aggressively prosecuting those who stalk and terrorize others, ensuring they are held accountable."
Carwyle, who remains in custody without bail, faces up to three years in prison if convicted.
Carwyle is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at the Airport Branch Courthouse.
During Thursday's arraignment hearing, prosecutors plan to ask that his bail be set the statutory level of $150,000, according to the D.A.'s Office.
Authorities continue to investigate Carwyle's background.
