1) If you tried to access the LAX website on Monday morning, you might have had a difficult time doing so. It turns out a “a pro-Russia hacking group listed LAX's site as one of its targets.” According to the airport’s officials, “there were no disruptions to operations or airport systems.” (Yahoo! News)
2) The LAPD arrested a 32-year-old woman in the killing of a 70-year-old man. We learned on Sunday that this is considered an act of “intentionally running over and killing” the man with “his own car in a Griffith Park parking lot.” Apparently, the parties were involved in an argument before the killing. (The Eastsider LA)
3) On Sunday evening at around 11:30 p.m., two LAPD officers were stuck in their vehicle after running over a downed power line in the 16400 block of Nordhoff Street. They responded to a car crash that also involved a sheared fire hydrant. There is no word on the reason for the initial crash. (KTLA)
4) The LAFD fought a detached garage fire at 8547 North Keokuk Avenue. There is no information yet on the cause of the Winnetka neighborhood fire. (LAFD)
5) LAX will be welcoming a new carrier on October 29. Korea's hybrid Air Premia debuts its Seoul to L.A. flight with the carrier’s 787-9. Initially planned for May but then postponed, the inaugural flight is the beginning of an almost daily route. This means competition for Korean Air. (Simple Flying)
