Hawthorne Man Killed in Roll Over Crash Near USC Identified

LOS ANGELES, CA — A man killed when a Range Rover rolled over and struck a tree near USC was a Hawthorne resident, authorities said Sunday.

Omar Kenyatta was 42, according to the coroner's office.

The crash occurred near Figueroa and 37th streets just after midnight Thursday, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The driver now identified as Kenyatta was killed and a passenger was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
