High Surf Expected At LA County Beaches
Over Labor Day weekend, forecasters warned that high surf and strong rip currents would persist at LA County beaches through Tuesday.
LOS ANGELES — High surf and strong rip currents are expected through Tuesday at Los Angeles County beaches, and authorities are warning people to stay out of the water or remain near occupied lifeguard towers.
The National Weather Service's Los Angeles office said waves of 4-7 feet were expected for south-facing beaches in LA and Ventura County, with local sets to 8 feet.
Mild temperatures are expected in the Southland for Labor Day, with a slow and steady warm-up predicted through the end of the week.

Highs around downtown Los Angeles will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s for most of the week, increasing to 89 to 90 degrees by next weekend, forecasters said.
In the valleys, highs will stay in the 80s this week, then rise into the 90s by next weekend.
The late summer weather is also turning muggy, with humidity levels in the 50% to 66% range through Thursday.
