Intruder At LA Mayor's Home Taken Into Custody: Authorities

The male gained access by breaking a window at Getty House, LA's official mayoral residence and home to Mayor Karen Bass, police said.

LOS ANGELES — An intruder broke into the home of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass early Sunday morning, according to authorities.

The incident occurred around 6:40 a.m. at Getty House, the city’s official mayoral residence, in the 600 block of South Irving Boulevard, authorities said.

A male smashed a window to gain entry and was taken into custody by police, who responded to a 911 call about the break-in, according to authorities. The intruder was awaiting processing as of Sunday evening, according to police.

“Mayor Bass and her family were not injured and are safe,” Deputy Mayor of Communications Zach Seidl said in a prepared statement. “The Mayor is grateful to LAPD for responding and arresting the suspect.”
