Aaron Donald, the Los Angeles Rams' seven-time all-pro superstar defensive tackle, just got paid — a lot.

LOS ANGELES — Aaron Donald, the Los Angeles Rams' seven-time all-pro superstar defensive tackle and now Super Bowl champion, just got paid — a lot.
Adam Schefter of ESPN tweeted Monday that the Rams will give Donald a two-year, $60 million extension.
NFL Network and NFL.com insider Ian Rapoport tweeted Donald stands to get a monster $40 million pay bump through 2024. The deal will make him the NFL's highest paid player who doesn't play quarterback in league history at 31 years old.

In his illustrious career, Donald has tallied 98 sacks and 23 forced fumbles, along with 150 tackles for loss. He's won three Defensive Player of the Year awards and earned seven first-team All-Pro honors.
His future in the league was up in the air heading into the 2022-23 season though. After winning the Super Bowl in February, Donald publicly floated he considered retirement.
But fans can take a collective sigh of relief now. Schefter said Donald was taking his physical Monday and was expected to sign Monday afternoon.
Pro Football Talk reported the Rams can't place the franchise tag on Donald for 2025. Rather, he'll become a free agent if he continues playing.
