LA Teen Founds Nonprofit To Rescue Shelter Animals
Ariela, a 16-year-old Star Student founded the nonprofit, Reducing Animal Stress, as part of her Girl Scout Silver and Gold Awards project.

Los Angeles, California — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Ariela is 16 years old and running a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to help shelter and rescue animals. The nonprofit, Reducing Animal Stress, is based on her Girl Scout Silver and Gold Awards. So far she has received several recognitions for her hard work including a Hero to Animals Award and 18 under 18 Award. She also won scholarships and grants to support the distribution of her exclusive adoption kits and foster kits throughout Los Angeles. So far, these kits helped encourage saving the lives of over 100 pets.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
Ariela’s dedication and passion for helping animals will be lifelong — she wants to inspire others to be kind to animals.
