LAPD Helicopter Crashes In Los Alamitos
No one was injured in Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base crash that ended with a helicopter on its side.

LOS ALAMITOS, CA — A Los Angeles Police Department helicopter crashed Tuesday during a training exercise at the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base. Two police officers aboard the helicopter managed to escape without major injury.
The crash was reported around 1 p.m. at the military base in the 4000 block of Doolittle Avenue in Los Alamitos. According to the LAPD, an unspecified training issue required the helicopter to make an emergency landing, and the aircraft wound up on its side.
Neither officer onboard had to be taken to a hospital for treatment.

An investigation into the crash was ongoing Tuesday afternoon.
The base is where local and federal agencies practice aviation drills, frequently taking off and landing again. The U.S. Coast Guard, Army and National Guard, and various police agencies have all practiced maneuvers at the base.
